Who it is for

For carriers who would rather drive

One missed load or one bad negotiation can slow your whole operation. Dispatch is one of our trucking back-office services, built for these carriers.

Owner-operators

You drive your own truck and would rather spend your hours on the road than on load boards and broker calls.

Small fleets

You run several trucks and want loads coordinated across all of them by one dispatch team.

New authorities

We work with new and established MCs. If yours is too new for some brokers, ask about our lease-on program.

What is included

What our dispatch service includes

One dispatcher handles the search, the calls and the paperwork, and checks with you before anything is booked.

Load search and booking

We look for freight that fits your truck, your lanes and your schedule, and nothing is booked until you say yes.

Rate negotiation

We negotiate with brokers directly and tell you the rate before we book. If a load doesn’t pay, we keep looking.

A dedicated dispatcher

A real person, not a bot, who learns your truck, your lanes and your goals, so you don’t explain them twice.

Broker communication

We’re the broker’s point of contact for rate confirmations, load updates and any problems, so you can keep driving.

Paperwork

We take care of carrier packets, rate confirmations and load documents, and keep them in order.

Route and backhaul planning

We line up your next load and plan routes that cut the empty miles between loads.

Each type of truck has its own freight, lanes and paperwork. See how we dispatch yours.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How much does truck dispatch cost?

Our fee is a flat percentage of each load’s gross, negotiable between 5% and 12% depending on your truck type and carrier profile. There is no retainer and no weekly fee. Tell us about your truck and we’ll tell you what we’d charge, or see what a percentage comes to on your own loads with our dispatch fee calculator.

Do I have to take every load you find?

No. Every load is booked with your approval. If a load doesn’t fit your lanes, schedule or rate, say no and we keep looking.

Is there a long-term contract?

No. Our dispatch service comes with no long-term commitments.

Do I need my own MC authority?

To be dispatched under your own authority, you need an active MC/DOT number and insurance. We work with new and established MCs. If your authority is too new for the brokers you want, ask about our lease-on program.

What equipment do you dispatch?

Box trucks up to 26 ft, hotshots, power-only units, flatbeds, dry vans, reefers and car haulers. Each has its own page under equipment we dispatch.

What documents do you need to start?

Your MC authority, proof of insurance and a W-9.

How do you find loads?

We search load boards for freight that matches your equipment, lanes and schedule, then negotiate the rate directly with the broker before you approve the load.

Can you help me get paid faster?

Yes. We can set you up with our factoring partner, Porter Freight Funding, and handle the paperwork, so you’re paid on delivered loads instead of waiting on broker payment terms. See freight factoring.

Can you help with insurance?

Finding the right insurance can be confusing, especially for new carriers. As part of our dispatch service, we guide you toward insurance providers who understand the trucking industry.
