On-demand recruitment

On-demand recruitment when hiring outgrows your team

A new contract, a new site or a busy season can bring more openings than your people can handle. Add recruiters for as long as the work lasts, then scale back.

  • Our recruiters already fill hard-to-staff driver jobs
  • A U.S. company with a team of 50+
  • Every engagement quoted in writing
  • Rules checked

What is on-demand recruitment?

On-demand recruitment, also called recruiter on demand (RoD), adds recruiter capacity to your team for a set period. It covers a hiring spike, a product launch or a seasonal surge without hiring a permanent recruiter or paying an agency for each placement. Digital Storming provides on-demand recruitment to U.S. small and mid-size businesses. Each engagement is scoped to your roles and timeline, and the fee is set out in a written quote before work begins.

What on-demand recruiting support covers

Take one piece or all of them, depending on where your hiring is stuck.

Here’s what you get

Job ads and postings

We write ads that describe the real job, post them where your candidates look and flag where state law asks for pay details.

Sourcing

Searching resume databases, referrals and professional networks for people who match but haven’t applied.

Screening

Phone screens built on the must-have questions your managers set, so they only meet people worth their time.

Interview scheduling

We book interviews, send reminders and chase feedback so good candidates aren’t left waiting and drifting away.

Pipeline reporting

A plain view of every opening: who is in screening, interview and offer, and where the process is stuck.

A clean handover

When the engagement ends, notes, candidate records and ad templates stay with you so your team can carry on.

Pricing

How an on-demand recruitment quote is worked out

Digital Storming has no price list for on-demand recruitment: the fee depends on how much recruiter time you need and for how long, and you get it in a written quote before any work starts. The quote is based on:

  1. How many roles and openings you have
  2. How much recruiter time you need, and for how long
  3. Which systems and tools we work in
  4. How quickly you need us to start

How it works

How to set up an engagement

  1. Step 1: List the openings

Roles, locations, start dates and who interviews. This is what sizes the work.

  2. Step 2: Choose how we plug in

Recruiters can work inside your team and tools, alongside it, or on one stage only, such as sourcing or screening.

  3. Step 3: Agree the quote

Scope, duration, reporting and the fee arrive in writing. Nothing starts until you sign off.

  4. Step 4: Kick off

We get access to your applicant tracker, meet the hiring managers and put the first ads live.

How an engagement runs

The phases of on-demand recruitment, ramp-up to handover

Each engagement moves through the same phases. How long each one lasts depends on your hiring volume, not on a fixed calendar.

  1. Phase 1

    Intake

Hiring managers walk us through each role, the must-have skills and the deal-breakers. We turn that into screening questions.

  2. Phase 2

    Ramp-up

Ads go live, sourcing begins and the first candidates enter screening.

  3. Phase 3

    Steady flow

Screens, interviews and offers settle into a regular rhythm, tracked in a pipeline report managers can read at a glance.

  4. Phase 4

    Adjust capacity

If volume rises or falls, recruiter time goes up or down to match, agreed with you in writing.

  5. Phase 5

    Scale back and hand over

As the last openings close, records, templates and any candidates still in play pass back to your team.

Add recruiters for your hiring push

Who it is for

Who brings in a recruiter on demand

This model suits businesses whose hiring comes in waves rather than a steady trickle.

  • Startups after funding or a first big contract

The plan calls for a lot of hires this quarter, and nobody on the team has time to source, screen and schedule.
  • Seasonal businesses

Peak season needs warehouse, retail, field or call center staff quickly, and the need drops away once it passes. When local hiring can’t cover a season, see international recruitment.
  • A new site or branch

Opening a location means filling a whole roster at once, in a local market you may not know well.
  • An HR team short a recruiter

Someone is on leave or the seat is empty, and openings pile up while you decide on a permanent fix.

On-Demand Recruitment FAQs

On-Demand Recruitment

What is a recruiter on demand?

On-demand recruitment is recruiting help you switch on for a period and switch off when the hiring is done. Instead of committing to a full-time recruiter or paying a fee on every hire, you add recruiter capacity for as long as the surge lasts. The recruiters can sit inside your team, use your tools and report to your hiring lead, which is why people also call the setup an embedded recruiter or a recruiter on demand.

How is on-demand recruitment priced?

On-demand recruitment, as a model, is built around paying for recruiter time or capacity, such as hours, days or a set period, rather than a fee tied to each person hired. That makes spending easier to plan during a surge, but you pay for the effort whether or not every opening fills. Digital Storming doesn’t publish prices; your written quote sets out the scope and the fee before anything starts.

How is on-demand recruitment different from an agency or RPO?

A contingency agency, as the AESC describes it, is paid after a candidate it found is hired, and you may work with several at once. Recruitment process outsourcing hands part or all of your recruiting process to an outside provider under an agreed scope. On-demand recruitment adds recruiters to your own team for a defined stretch, while your managers keep every hiring decision.

Who owns the candidate records?

Your business owns the candidate records, and that matters for compliance. Under 29 CFR 1602.14, a covered employer must keep application forms and other hiring records for one year from the date the record was made or the personnel action, whichever is later. That is why we work in your applicant tracker where we can and hand everything over at the end. If you don’t have a tracker, we can build one.

Do job postings need a pay range?

Whether a job posting needs a pay range depends on where the job is. In Washington, for example, the Department of Labor & Industries says employers with 15 or more employees must include a wage scale or salary range, a general description of all benefits and a general description of other compensation in job postings. When we write ads for you, we ask for pay details up front, and your employment lawyer confirms the rules for each state you hire in.

Can on-demand recruiters handle high-volume hourly roles?

Yes. Volume hiring suits this model, because the work is repetitive and time-sensitive: many screens, many interviews, quick offers. It is the same kind of work our recruiters do in truck driver recruitment, where they find, screen and onboard CDL and non-CDL drivers for trucking clients.

How quickly can a recruiter start?

How quickly an on-demand recruiter starts depends on the scope and how fast we get access to your systems and hiring managers, so we agree a start date in the quote rather than promising one up front. Having your openings, pay ranges and interview panel ready shortens the setup.

Should I use on-demand recruiters or temporary staff?

On-demand recruiters and temporary staff solve different problems. On-demand recruiters add hiring capacity: they help you find and hire your own employees. If what you need is people doing the work for a few weeks or months, look at temporary and contract staffing instead.
