Ecommerce store development

Shopify and WooCommerce stores, ready to sell

We set up online stores for small and growing businesses, with your products, payments, checkout and shipping in place before launch, and we can move an existing store to a new platform.

At a glance

Digital Storming builds online stores on Shopify and on WordPress with WooCommerce for small and growing businesses. We set up the store and its theme, add your products, connect payments, configure checkout and shipping, cover the speed and SEO basics, and can migrate an existing store. Each project is quoted once we understand what you sell and how.

Speed and SEO basics

Sized images, page titles and descriptions, clean product URLs and a sitemap.

Choosing a platform

Shopify or WooCommerce?

Both are solid ways to run a small business store. The right one depends on how much you want to manage yourself.

Shopify

A hosted store platform: you pay Shopify a monthly plan and Shopify runs the hosting and the software updates.

  • Quick to launch and simple to manage
  • Apps from the Shopify App Store for extra features
  • A good fit if you want to focus on selling, not on the website

WooCommerce

A free store plugin for WordPress: it runs on your own WordPress hosting, so you control the site and its data.

  • Adds a store to a WordPress site you already have
  • Full control over design, features and data
  • Needs hosting, such as our WordPress hosting

How it works

From first call to first order

  1. Step 1: Scoping call.

You tell us what you sell, how many products you have and how you take payment and ship.

  2. Step 2: Plan and quote.

We recommend a platform and send a written scope and quote.

  3. Step 3: Build the store.

We set up the store, theme, products, payments and shipping, and you review it as we go.

  4. Step 4: Test and launch.

We test orders from start to finish, launch, and show your team how to run the store.

Ecommerce Store Development FAQs

Ecommerce Stores

How much does an ecommerce store cost?

Each store is quoted per project. The price depends on the platform, how many products and variants you have, how much design work the theme needs and whether we are moving an existing store. You get a written quote after a scoping call.

Should I choose Shopify or WooCommerce?

Shopify suits you if you want a hosted store that is quick to launch and simple to manage, for a monthly Shopify plan. WooCommerce suits you if you already have a WordPress site or want full control over the store and its data, on your own hosting. We help you choose during the scoping call.

Can you move my existing store?

Yes. We move your products to the new platform and set up redirects so old product links keep working. Whether customer accounts and past orders can move too depends on the two platforms; we check that before we quote.

Do you set up payments?

Yes. You open the payment account in your business’s name with the provider you choose, and we connect it to the store and test the checkout before launch.

Will my store show up on Google?

We set up the basics: page titles and descriptions, clean product URLs, sized images and a sitemap. Ranking well takes ongoing work; see our SEO services.

Can you host a WooCommerce store?

Yes. WooCommerce runs on WordPress, and our WordPress hosting plans include one for demanding websites and ecommerce. Shopify stores are hosted by Shopify.
