What is international recruitment?

An international recruitment agency finds and screens candidates abroad for jobs an employer can’t fill locally; the employer’s immigration attorney handles the visa. Digital Storming is one, for U.S. businesses. We write the role brief, search abroad, screen and interview candidates, and coordinate with your immigration attorney, who picks the route and files. We are not a law firm and we don’t sponsor visas. Our fee is set by the role and the search, and quoted in writing up front.

Who it is for

When the right person is outside the U.S.

  • A specialist role nobody local applies for

Engineering, technical and other degree-level jobs where U.S. postings keep bringing in people who can’t do the work.

  • Seasonal crews for farms and peak periods

Farms, landscapers, resorts and other seasonal employers who can’t find enough local workers for their peak months.

  • Professionals from Canada or Mexico

Roles that may fit the TN category for Canadian and Mexican citizens, where finding and checking the right professional is the slow part.

  • A first international hire with no playbook

You have never hired from abroad and want the search, the hand-offs to your attorney and the candidate’s questions handled by one team.

Our approach

What our international recruitment agency handles

Everything a recruiter should do, with a clear line where the attorney takes over.

A role brief your attorney can use

We write down the duties, pay, location and must-have qualifications, so your attorney can confirm which route, if any, fits before we search.

Sourcing in the right countries

We look for global talent on international job boards, professional networks and referrals in the countries the chosen route allows, such as Canada and Mexico for TN.

Screening against the route’s requirements

We check degrees, licenses and work history against the requirements your attorney gives us, then pass the documents to them for the legal call.

Interviews across time zones

We schedule and run first interviews by video, test the skills the job needs, and send you a short write-up on each finalist.

Ethical recruitment for every candidate

We put the job, pay and location in writing before anyone commits, and we never ask candidates to pay us. For H-2A and H-2B jobs, USCIS rules bar recruiters and agents from collecting job placement fees from workers.

Offer and arrival support

We help you present the offer, keep the candidate updated while the petition is pending, and plan the first weeks once they arrive.

Pricing

How an international recruitment quote is worked out

Digital Storming has no price list for international recruitment: the fee depends on the role, the countries searched and the timing, and you get it in a written quote before any work starts. The quote is based on:

  1. The role and the skills it needs
  2. The countries we search in
  3. How many hires, and when you need them to start
  4. How the search lines up with your attorney’s visa timeline

How it works

How an international search runs

  1. Step 1: Brief and route check

You tell us about the job. You and your attorney confirm the route and the earliest realistic start date.

  2. Step 2: Search abroad

We post and search in the countries that fit the route, and screen applicants against the brief.

  3. Step 3: Interview and choose

You meet a short list by video and decide who gets the offer.

  4. Step 4: Attorney files

Your attorney prepares and files the petition or application. We keep the candidate informed and answer recruiting questions, never legal ones.

  5. Step 5: Arrival and first weeks

We check in with you and the new hire during the first weeks and flag anything to fix.

International Recruitment FAQs

International Recruitment

What does an international recruitment agency do?

An international recruitment agency finds, screens and interviews candidates in other countries for your open job, then helps you make the offer. A recruiter does not decide visa eligibility or file anything with the government. We run the search; your immigration attorney handles the legal side.

Can Digital Storming sponsor a visa for my new hire?

No. On employer-based routes, the U.S. employer, or in some cases its agent, is the petitioner. We are not an immigration firm, a law firm or an employer of record. If you don’t have an immigration attorney yet, choose one first and we’ll plan the search around their advice.

How do I hire foreign workers in the USA?

Hiring a foreign worker for a U.S. job follows the same outline every time: define the job, have an immigration attorney confirm which route fits, recruit and choose the candidate, let the attorney file where required, then onboard the person once they are authorized to work. PERM labor certification cases start at the Department of Labor, before USCIS.

Which work visa is the quickest?

No work visa route comes with a date anyone can honestly promise. Each route has its own pace setter: H-1B cap cases wait for a once-a-year registration, H-2B depends on whether the half-year cap is still open, and Canadian citizens can request TN status at the border. Your attorney tells you what is realistic.

Can foreign workers be charged recruitment fees?

For H-2A and H-2B jobs, no. USCIS denies or revokes a petition when the employer, or a recruiter or agent acting for it, collected or agreed to collect prohibited fees from workers. The Department of Labor also requires H-2A employers to contractually forbid their recruiters from seeking payment from workers (DOL guidance). We don’t take money from candidates on any route.

What does it cost to hire someone from abroad?

Plan for three separate costs: our recruiting fee, government filing fees and your attorney’s fees. Ours comes in a written quote before any work. Government fees are set by USCIS and DOL and have changed since 2025, including new payments on some H-1B petitions, so get current figures from your attorney.

Do you also recruit inside the U.S.?

Yes, and a domestic search is usually simpler. See permanent staffing for full-time U.S. hires, remote staffing for people working from home inside the U.S., or all our HR and staffing services. For a hard-to-staff field we already recruit in, see truck driver recruitment.
