At a glance
Car hauler dispatch means a dispatcher finds and books vehicle loads for your car-hauling trailer: dealer trades, auction purchases, rental and fleet moves and private cars. Digital Storming dispatches wedge-trailer setups and full-size car carriers for a flat 5–12% of each load’s gross, and plans pickups and drop-offs so the trailer runs full. You approve every load.

Who it is for
Car haulers we work with
Hotshot car haulers
A pickup with a wedge or small open trailer, often on dealer and auction moves.
Full-size car carriers
Tractor-pulled multi-car trailers that need every slot planned stop by stop.
Small car-hauling fleets
Several trucks whose pickups and drop-offs are coordinated by one dispatcher.
What is included
What we handle for your car hauler
Vehicle load search
Dealer, auction and private vehicle loads on your lanes, sized to how many cars your trailer takes.
Pickups planned together
We combine pickups and drop-offs so the trailer fills up and empties in a sensible order, and look for loads home.
Price per car
Vehicle loads are priced per car; we negotiate each one and check what the whole trip pays.
Pickup details and paperwork
Addresses, contacts, hours, keys and whether each car runs, confirmed first; dispatch sheets and load documents kept in order.
Freight and rates
Car hauling freight, and what moves the rate
A car hauler earns per slot, so a trip pays only when the trailer is full for most of the miles.
What car haulers move
- Dealer trades and new-car deliveries
- Auction purchases
- Rental, lease-return and fleet vehicles
- Private cars for people moving or buying out of state
- Inoperable vehicles, when you have a winch
What makes loads hard to find or price
- Paid per car, not per load. Each vehicle has its own price, so empty slots for long stretches drag down the whole trip.
- Load order matters. Where each car sits decides when it can come off, so pickups and drop-offs have to be planned together.
- Damage disputes. Scratches and dents not recorded at pickup get argued at delivery, so a condition report and photos matter on every car.
- Payment terms vary. Some loads pay on delivery, others on broker terms, so how and when you are paid is part of the decision.

How it works
How car hauler dispatch works
Step 1: Free consultation
Tell us your trailer type and how many cars it takes, your cargo coverage, whether you can winch inoperable cars, your lanes, home time and the price per car you need.
Step 2: Send your documents
Your MC authority, certificate of insurance (with cargo coverage) and W-9.
Step 3: Approve your loads
Each load comes to you with the cars, addresses, dates and price per car. Nothing is booked until you say yes.
Step 4: Haul, we fill the next trip
You load and deliver; we handle broker and dealer updates, and look for the cars for your next leg.

Rules for hauling vehicles
Each car or light truck must be held front and rear with at least two tiedowns. A pickup and trailer rated at 26,001 lbs or more, with the trailer over 10,000 lbs, needs a Class A CDL.
Across state lines, a setup rated at 10,001 lbs or more is a commercial motor vehicle, and for-hire general freight in it needs at least $750,000 in liability insurance; cargo cover for the cars is on top.

Questions
Car hauler dispatch questions
Can you dispatch a non-CDL car hauler?
Yes, if your setup stays under the Class A line: a combination rated at 26,001 lbs or more with a trailer rated over 10,000 lbs needs a Class A CDL (49 CFR 383.91). We book loads within what your ratings allow.
Do I need my own authority to haul cars?
To haul vehicles for brokers and dealers across state lines under your own name, yes: a USDOT number and for-hire operating authority (MC). Running without required authority can put the truck out of service (49 CFR 392.9a). If your MC is new, see dispatch for new authority.
How are car hauling loads paid?
Per vehicle. Some loads are paid on delivery and others on broker terms, so we confirm the price per car and how and when you will be paid before you accept.
Is this the same as your auto transport service?
No. Car hauler dispatch works for you, the carrier: we find and book loads for your trailer. Our auto transport service is for dealers and people who need a vehicle shipped, arranged through our brokerage partner AMB Logistics.
How much does car hauler dispatch cost?
The same as all our dispatch: a flat 5–12% of each load’s gross, set by your truck type and carrier profile, with no retainer and no weekly fee. Tell us about your trailer and we’ll tell you what we’d charge.
